The Village of Bells and Ancient Jobs
Agnone
Agnone
The charming town of Agnone, considered the "Capital of High Molise", is a precious treasure of culture, tradition and gastronomy. Its old town is very enchanting: a network of streets and alleys decorated with rampant lions, portals with big keystones and goldsmith workshops that learned the art of filigree from famous Venetian masters in the 11th century. Agnone is town of artisans and ancient jobs: it is known for copper and iron working, which characterizes the local artisanship. Even today many shops preserve the tradition of a type of processing forgotten somewhere else. Among these, the Pontifical Marinelli Bell Foundry and the Ramera of Agnone, are jealous guardians of an art that has been handed down for generations, which today can be rediscovered by tourists and visitors, through interesting guided tours. Anyone who visits Agnone is also fascinated by its many gluttonies: meats, cheeses, meats and above all sweets make the town unique also for its gastronomic offer. Town of noble buildings and bell towers, artisanship and gastronomy, is considered by many a "Diffused Museum" that can be discovered in all its charm only if you lose yourself in its refined beauty.
